Ok, great episode but am I the only one who don’t like Podshow hijacking your intro? I liked when you got the awesome music directly, kind of a “Yeah!!”-moment to get you pumped for the story. And now, it is ruined by the lame podshow intro, just bad enough to drain your energy so much that even the music can’t quite get you back up again.

I’m guessing it’s probably not your idea, so that’s why I like to know who to blame. Oh, and feel free to add profanity to this message where needed…

Let the action flow, less exposition. I was expecting something exciting from that practice session but the constant interruptions totally ruined the mood for me.

I know you have to get some basic descriptions out for the different species but to be honest I’d rather see a few pictures up on the website and leave how they move etc to my own imagination so the action in the games can build up some sort flow and excitement.

Quentin, ya gotta look out for that “giant rookie lineman”!!
; )

Scott,

I have been listening since Earthcore, and this is your best story yet! Keep it coming! I’ve gotten the entire IT department here at work listening to The Rookie. It’s a big hit. You gotta push this for some sort of movie or miniseries production deal. The football tie in makes it more mainstream than your previous stories and even if those weren’t too off the beaten path, this is your best work yet! Thanks for continuing to produce such awesome entertainment!

Oh and I forgot to mention: I grabbed episode 10 as soon as it was online and ate it up. I can’t wait for the start of the season! I really can’t wait. Therefore, I expect you to release a new episode every 3 days. That is the only way to keep us happy. You will keep us happy…

Simon

Hey scott loving the story so far cant wait till next week. just bought Earthcore in print as a xmas present so im spreading the word for you.

I have been listening since Earthcore and I think this is perhaps the best story yet (well other than that short story you did on Escape Pod). Being Australian I know sweet FA about US Football, but you know what, it doesn’t matter. The story goes beyond that. Two things I would like to see happen quickly. Quentin’s racial problems are getting tiresome (not normally an issue, but I got the idea from the start that Quentin wasn’t that xenophobic. The other, well the other is me wanting voilence. Bring on the death and destruction.

Can’t WAIT for episode 11. Five bucks says Pine breaks both legs, Itsok (no idea how to spell his name) comes down with the flue, and Quentin starts. ^_^

I’ve been a diehard football/scifi/fantasy fan all of my life. This is one of the best things that I’ve ever seen. Thanks Scott!

One question: Why are there only heavy-G humans? What about the other species?

I really think there should be a Deap Pool for the team. But here is my 2 cents, Pine may be injured but he wont die. He will be Quentin’s mentor to be a better player and human. Itsok, on the other hand, better enjoy life while he can. He’s the funny sidekick and we all know those tend to have short lifespans.
Its Sunday Night! Where is my fix? :)

Alex B

Where’s the season opener?…you bastard. It’s 9:30 on Sunday night here in Frisco (12:30 ET) and I don’t have the opener yet. Come on, feed my habit!
